In short, we love her crib.
However, with TicTac on the way, and our intention of using the crib for him/her, we wanted to wean Faith from her beloved crib before TicTac swooped in and Faith thought we kicked her out for the new baby. We took the front of her crib off last night to make the cutest little daybed.
We did our nightly routine exactly as we had for the past 2.5 years, and took her into her room to see her "new" bed. A huge smile broke out on that sweet little face of hers.
We asked that she please stay in bed until Mommy or Daddy come to get her in the morning and she agreed. We gave her a few Little People, a sip of water, and an extra snuggle, and let her climb into her very own Big Girl Bed. Faith seemed happy, and I was thrilled to not have to lean waaaaay over in the crib to give her a kiss.
She cried after about 30 minutes, but it was only because she wanted Eddie with Freddie (a Little Person). Around 1am, she cried again, but I went in to snuggle, replace her blankets, and reassure her for about 5 minutes. At 6am (with the "Spring Forward" timechange), she cried again and Daddy went to the rescue. She then slept until 8am. The best part? In the few times she hollered out to us, she never got out of bed.
Boy, that kid can follow directions!
