Welcome, 2010!

Our NYE was just like any other night. We put the kids to bed between 6:30 and 7:30, had out "midnight snackies" at 8:30, in bed by 9, lights out by 10:30. It was awesome!

I often hear the term "the party of the year" when talking about NYE parties, but my every day is my "POTY" (bwahahaha... didn't know what that would look like until I typed it out. It's funny. It's staying)

I look over at my incredible husband, who suffers through countless hours (oh, who am I kidding? We count them all the time to make sure we have enough of them!) of overtime so I can be home with our kids, and I smile. He is my best friend, my confidante, and not afraid to play Devil's Advocate when I really do need it. He's as committed to our future as I am, and for that, I thank God.

I go in to Faith's room to kiss her good night and enjoy the stream of conciousness that she unleashes if she's awake, If she's asleep, I kiss her sweaty 3-year old hairline as many times as I want. I put her hand in mine and marvel at her growth in such a short time. I MADE this little person and for that ability, I thank God.

I sneak into Josie's room and am taken by a sense of happiness. After many many months of trying to add to our family, Josie is the perfect person to have been added to it. As cliche as it sounds, my life was incomplete without her. I think of all the Firsts I will get to experience again through her, and the fact that I will be sneaking into her room in three years to listen to her ramble, and I thank God for that.

So, as I look forward into 2010, I don't want much to change from 2009 (I am actually sad to see the year go, unlike many of my friends). After all, I have had much to be thankful for in '09.
